What do you do when your beloved company informs you that they’re shutting down at the end of the year? Well three colleagues were asking themselves that same question September 2015 when TorStar Corporation announced it was shutting the doors to Canada’s much-loved digital media company, Olive Media.
Fueled by a mutual passion for technology, business and a craving to help the world, a resolution was born. An idea had sprung up early 2015 when co-founder Sarah Selhi realized that her Aunt would be spending $12,000 over two years to store her furniture in a corporate storage unit. Not only was that an exorbitant amount of money, but her belongings were valued about ¼ of that. What if she stored at a neighbours home for HALF that cost? That’s $3K a year for a family who could certainly benefit and a huge savings for her Aunt. Win-Win!
